Account Manager
Full Time
Commercial Lines

Assists in the production of new accounts and the retention of existing accounts in the underwriting and coordination of commercial/personal lines accounts with various insurance companies as well as surplus brokers.  Provides technical and clerical support for the Producers/Agents.  Maintains client contact regarding coverage, policy changes, etc.  Provides prompt, efficient, high quality service to designated accounts in support of Producer activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be detail oriented and have the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Requires working to established procedures and meeting deadlines.
  • Maintains knowledge of underwriting criteria for carriers represented by the agency.
  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision and have good problem solving skills.
  • Must have the ability to understand policy forms, rating and coverage descriptions.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and basic knowledge of computer programs.
  • Type 30 – 45 wpm.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in the insurance industry.
  • A Hawaii Property-Casualty insurance producer’s license required by the State of Hawaii Department of Insurance. Or be able to complete within 3 months of start date.
  • Other duties as required by the position.

Dedicated Account Manager

Under minimal supervision, provides prompt, efficient, high quality service and support for specified Agents with their commercial lines book of business and key transactional workflows (new and renewal business, policy changes, cancellations, notice of cancellations, and audits).  Responsibilities include working with various insurance companies as well as excess and surplus lines brokers in obtaining quotes for new and renewal business and submitting policy changes.  Assists with client contact regarding coverages, policy changes, renewal solicitations, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Requires excellent oral and written communication with internal and external customers.
  • Skills/Knowledge:  Requires demonstrated customer service skills, and basic knowledge of computer programs (MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Powerpoint, MS Teams (preferred). Type 35 – 50 wpm.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Meets the mental, physical and communication demands listed above;
  • Requires demonstrated customer service and sales skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, good mathematic aptitude and basic knowledge of computer programs;
  • Must have at least 3-5 years of industry experience;
  • Must have a Hawaii State Insurance license to discuss or place insurance as required by the State Department of Insurance;
  • CPCU and/or CIC and/or CISR and/or ARM designations are preferred.
  • Must have any combination of experience and education, which would provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to meet the qualifications to perform the essential functions of this position.

Support Associate

Description:  Assists Customer Service Representatives (CSR) by processing paperwork assigned, which includes issuing certificates, ID cards, finance contracts, photo copying, faxing, typing proposals, and other miscellaneous clerical duties within established timeframe.  Also serves as back-up for the Receptionist.

Qualifications:  Must be able to work in a fast paced environment handling multiple tasks and deadlines, be detail oriented, possess good verbal and written communication skills, type 35-45 wpm accurately, and have good knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheets, and office equipment skills. Excellent computer skills highly preferred. Previous customer service skills in a professional and courteous manner, in person and over the phone required.

Receptionist

This position creates a positive first impression for the agency.  Responsibilities include operating a telephone console, handling incoming, outgoing, interoffice calls and routing calls or messages to appropriate individual.  Receives and announces all visitors.  Sorts incoming mail, correspondence and faxes for distribution.  Performs Personal Lines data entry and routine clerical work as needed.

 Minimum Qualifications:

 Must be able to work in a fast paced environment handling multiple tasks.

  • Requires working to established procedures and meeting deadlines.
  • Must have customer service skills relating to people in a professional and courteous manner in person and over the phone.
  • Requires good oral and written communication skills and the ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.

Accounting Specialist

Accounting Department (Honolulu)

Description:  Responsible for reconciling and verifying payments for personal and commercial lines accounts including, TDI, medical, dental and life.  Compute agent commission and maintain payment records of commission statements.  Follow-up with CSR regarding payment discrepancies and billing errors.  Invoice bonds and monthly audits.  Also serves as back-up for the other accounting staff.

Qualifications:  Must be detail oriented, have the ability to handle multiple tasks, have basic understanding of accounting principles, type 35-45 wpm accurately, high level of Excel knowledge and have basic office equipment skills. 4-5 years previous accounting experience required.
